The Moez Nomanbhoy International Scholarship

Established in 1858, Hale School is Perth’s oldest boys’ school. Our extraordinary school community helps prepare every boy for his future – a future where he can be the very best version of himself.

Hale School’s Wembley Downs campus is built on 48 hectares, with 11 playing fields, 2 swimming pools, 2 boarding houses and world class teaching and learning facilities. With 1600 students from pre-primary to Year 12, and an alumni of over 16,000 we are proud of our local and international connections.

In 2024, we are excited to announce Hale School’s first international student scholarship which has been made possible through the generous donation of the Nomanbhoy family. Now in his 80s, Moez Nomanbhoy travelled to Perth from 1951 to 1954 to attend Hale School and complete his secondary education. Over the years, Moez continues to hold the school in the highest regard and hopes this scholarship will support another international student to embark on a life changing educational experience.

“My father was sent to board at Hale School in the 1950s from Singapore. Those 4 years had such a strong impression on him. He has maintained many friendships from those years and still speaks so fondly of his time at Hale School. Our family would like to honour that connection by funding the school’s first International Scholarship which we hope will go to a deserving young man who will not only thrive at this wonderful school but will help to grow the school’s global connections.”

Hanif Nomanbhoy

The scholarship offers a 50% remission in boarding fees for the successful applicant over the duration of their schooling at Hale School.
